Have you been watching Crufts??
I just love to watch this every year. Those doggies are just so cute and I want them all. My dog thinks it's great fun to run up to the telly and bark back at the show dogs. Daft as a brush he is!
Sadly, Crufts will probably encourage so many people to rush out and buy a puppy. That's great but so many people do not realise that owning a dog isn't just about stroking them and throwing a ball for them to chase. We adopted our latest dog 2 years ago. He was given up for adoption as his owners could not care for him. We are very thankful they realised dog owning wasn't for them. He is the most wonderful dog and has enriched our lives so much.
Owning a dog means lots of walks, feeding, grooming, vets bills and most importantly....commitment! Our dog is out very early in the morning, then again at lunch time again in the evening. He probably gets about 4 hours on average of walking a day, sometimes more. For this he is the most wonderfully natured dog, faithfull and well behaved.
He askes for nothing more than a good walk, play times, food and lots of love and cuddles. His love is unconditional, he is always there with a lick and cuddle when you get home. Always ready to cuddle up on a cold night.
Whoever said dogs are mans best friend was so right!
